Shrule and District Vintage Club are holding their Fifth Annual Rally in Castlehacket Estate, Belclare, Tuam, on Saturday and Sunday, June 8th and 9th.
On Saturday 8th a Vintage Run will depart the site at 4pm, returning at 8pm, followed by a barbeque. The main event will commence at 10am on Sunday 9th.
All types of vintage vehicles will be on display – tractors, cars, motorbikes, commercial trucks, 4X4s, construction and industrial vehicles, fire and steam engines.
The Ford Cortina Club and the Opel/Vauxhall club will be in attendance again this year.
There will be vintage working displays and demonstrations with threshing, block making, stone crushing, and stationary engines in operation. A tractor build display is planned and a substantial auto jumble will be run on-site.
Other attractions include Dog show and crafts display featuring cooking, butter making, sewing, wood turning and weaving.
There will be children’s’ entertainment, set dancing and live music featuring Don Stiffe, Matt Keane and many more artists.
Admission to the Vintage Rally is €10 for Adult with children free.
All funds raised from the 2013 Vintage Field day will go to Ability West, Tuam and to Cáirde Crann Mór to support Western Care Association’s local services in the Ballinrobe area.
In south Mayo the Association provides day services at its Crann Mór Centre, Ballinrobe as well as respite and residential services at 4 locations in the town. Ability West provides services and supports to over 460 children and adults with an intellectual disability throughout Galway City and County.
In the Tuam area, Ability West provides services in 11 locations in addition to St Oliver’s Special School, in total catering for 80 children and adults with intellectual disability.
