Ballina Town Council has held a special civic ceremony in the town’s Arts Centre to mark Ballina winning the “Pride of Place’ national award – and the recent success of Belleek Forest Park Enhancement Committee.
Ballina Pride of Place Steering Group took top prize in the annual IPB All-Island Pride of Place Awards at a ceremony in The Venue, Derry, in November.
The Ballina group received their award in Category 5 which is for population size of more than 2000 people.
The Town Council also paid tribute to the ongoing work of the Belleek Forest Park Enhancement Committee who were the Connaught winners of the RDS Forest Service Awards 2013 in the Community Woodlands category.
