Foxford will be the centre of attraction on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th August when the community celebrates the town’s culture and heritage, at the Gathering Foxford 2013.
The highlights of the weekend of community fund and celebrations include lectures, a fundraising cycle, and traditional music and dancing.

Class of ’73 Photographic Reunion

Exactly forty years ago a photograph was taken of 6th and 7th Class in the yard of St. Patrick’s Boys School, Chapel Rd.
Former students are to meet again in the yard for a retake of that photograph. Happily, all are well; most live in Ireland, while three live in England and one in the U.S.

Remembering F. R. Higgins
Church of Ireland, Market Square, Sunday 4th August at 10 a.m.
A Special Prayer Service takes place in the Church of Ireland, on Sunday the 4th August, in memory of Foxford poet and playwright, Frederick Robert Higgins, friend of W.B.Yeats, and former Director of the Abbey Theatre, Dublin. A family relative, Aiden Gray will recite one of Frederick’s poems during the service.
