Mayo General Hospital Pathology Laboratory has achieved the Irish National Accreditation Board Standard award in all Departments.

An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD has congratulated the team at the Pathology Laboratory at Mayo General Hospital on its quality system as approved by the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB).
The laboratory was awarded the ISO 15189 standard by INAB, the government approved agency for inspecting medical laboratories.
The departments of Blood Banking, Haemovigilance, Haematology , Microbiology, Biochemistry and Histopathology are all accredited in a single quality system.
The quality system is managed by the Quality Manager Janet Burke, and the Laboratory Directors are Dr Fadel Bennani, Clinical Director, Consultant Histopathologist and Regina Rogan Pathology Laboratory Manager.
