Western Care Association is delighted to announce details of Rhythms in May, a variety concert that will take place in the McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris on Thursday, May 2nd next.
Presented by Annette Griffin and John Staunton, the concert will also feature special guests Matt and Orlaith Keane, Sean Costello, TR Dallas, the Ballinrobe Folk Group and an extract from ‘It’s the Real McCoy’
Annette Griffin who is resident singer, entertainer and harpist at the world famous Ashford Castle in Cong, has entertained US presidents, Heads of State, Movie stars and people from all walks of life to wonderful acclaim.
John Staunton is a musician, singer and entertainer who comes from Ballintober, Co. Roscommon. He played in local bands such as the Premier Aces before joining TR Dallas in the early 1980s and has been guitarist, singer and MC in the Daniel O’Donnell band for the past 26 years.
Annette and John decided they wanted to get involved in a special fundraising concert for Western Care after hearing and reading about all the great work the Association is involved in.
They both felt what a great opportunity it would be to help and support this wonderful organisation.
Annette and John will be joined by special guests Matt and Orlaith Keane who are members of the famous Keane family from Caherlistrane, Co Galway and are the most naturalistic singers in the world! Seán Costello has appeared all over Ireland as a guest with many musical societies and has received eight nominations for Best Male Voice, winning the prestigious award
They will also be joined by the hugely talented Ballinrobe Folk Group and a lighter note will be struck by Gerry Glennon and Eileen Slevin, cast members from It’s the Real McCoy who will reenact a segment from the hilarious and hugely successful play written and directed by Tommy Marren.
The event will also feature an auction of celebrity sporting and entertainment memorabilia with TR Dallas acting as auctioneer.
Items on offer will including a pair of boxing gloves signed by Olympic Champion, Katy Taylor, one of Daniel O’Donnell’s shirts and an Ireland team Jersey from last year’s European Championships, to name but a few.
This fabulous variety concert is being promoted by Western Care Association and Cáirde Crann Mór, Ballinrobe.
