Towey’s service station in Ballaghderreen has received an award for its support for paracycling in their area at the Shelflife National C Store Awards.
The well known Topaz station on the Dublin Road won the Community Initiative Award at the Shelflife National C Store Awards.
The award was presented to Pat Towey for all the work he and his colleagues from the local cycling club have done in supporting paracycling in their area.
The awards, now in their eleventh year, were presented at a gala reception at the Ballsbridge Hotel in Dublin recently.
Paul Candon, Marketing and Corporate Services Director at Topaz, said the company was delighted for Pat, Jacequeline and their staff.
“It’s wonderful to see their contribution to the local community being rewarded in this way. This award is for all their work with Ballaghderreen Cycling Club in making para cycling a real option for young people with disabilities in the region. Congratulations to Pat and everyone in the club for all their support for this brilliant initiative. The award is richly deserved” Mr Candon said.
The C Store Awards recognise and reward best practice in all aspects of Irish convenience retailing and are among the most coveted in the sector.
